Cookie Policy

(not as good as the M&S ones)

Last Updated: 4 October 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how CREATED BY HYDRO LLC ("hydro", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on hydro.website, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Similar technologies do the same job in other ways: local storage and session storage save data in your browser, and scripts and pixels send information about your visit to the company that provides them. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of them.

Some cookies are set by us (first-party cookies). Others are set by the companies whose services we use on our site (third-party cookies).

How we ask for your consent

When you first visit our site, a small banner asks whether you accept our analytics and marketing cookies, which we use to see how the site is used, measure our ads and find out which businesses visit. "Accept all" and "Reject all" are the same size and just as easy to click.

Until you choose, and if you reject, we only use strictly necessary cookies. Hotjar, Apollo, RB2B and Leadsy don't load at all, and Webflow Analyze and our Wistia video player don't store anything on your device.

Google Analytics and Google Ads use Google Consent Mode. Before you choose, and if you reject, they run in a restricted mode: they don't set or read cookies, and they send Google only limited signals without cookies (such as your IP address, the page you're on, the time, your browser type and whether you arrived from one of our ads), which Google uses to estimate visits and ad results in aggregate.

We remember your choice for 180 days in a cookie called hydro_consent, with a copy in your browser's local storage, then ask again.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If you reject after accepting, we stop using those cookies from that point and remove the ones our site can reach, such as the Google Analytics, Google Ads and Hotjar cookies. To delete everything, including cookies set on other companies' domains, clear your browser's cookies and site data.

The cookies we use

Strictly necessary

These keep the site secure and working, and remember your cookie choice. The law allows us to use them without asking, and you can't switch them off in our banner.

  • hydro_consent (hydro; 180 days; a cookie with a copy in local storage): remembers whether you accepted or rejected cookies, so we don't ask on every page.
  • _cfuvid (Cloudflare, which serves our website; until you close your browser): protects the site from abuse by telling apart visitors who share an internet connection.
  • cf.turnstile.u (Cloudflare Turnstile; local storage, until you clear it): checks that form submissions come from a person, not a bot.

Analytics

These help us understand how people use our site, so we can improve it. We only use them if you click "Accept all".

  • _ga (Google Analytics; up to 2 years): tells visitors apart so we can count visits and see how the site is used.
  • _ga_YKYR2GRLRT (Google Analytics; up to 2 years): keeps track of your current visit.
  • intellimize_ items, for example intellimize_user_117409467 and intellimize_activity_117409467 (Webflow Analyze; local storage, until you clear them): measure how visitors use our pages (pages viewed, clicks and scrolling); one item stores your IP address and browser details.
  • _hjSessionUser_3321486 (Hotjar; 1 year): recognises you across visits, so heatmaps and session recordings are grouped correctly.
  • _hjSession_3321486 (Hotjar; 30 minutes): groups the pages you view during one visit.
  • hjActiveViewportIds (Hotjar; local storage, until you clear it): keeps track of the tabs you have open, for session recordings.
  • hjViewportId (Hotjar; session storage, until you close the tab): identifies the tab you're using, for session recordings.
  • wistia (Wistia, our video player; local storage, until you clear it): counts video plays and how much of each video is watched.
  • wistia-video-progress- items (Wistia; local storage, until you clear them): remember where you stopped watching a video.

Marketing

These measure our advertising, help us show our ads to people who've visited our site, and help our team see which businesses are interested in our services. We only use them if you click "Accept all".

  • _gcl_au (Google Ads; 90 days): links clicks on our ads to enquiries made on our site.
  • _gcl_ls (Google Ads; local storage, until you clear it): does the same job as _gcl_au.
  • hydro_gclid (hydro; local storage, 90 days): keeps the Google Ads click ID, so an enquiry you send us can be linked to the ad that brought you here.
  • IDE (Google, on doubleclick.net; 13 months in the UK and EEA, up to 2 years elsewhere): used by Google to show and measure ads, including showing our ads to people who've visited our site.
  • test_cookie (Google, on doubleclick.net; 15 minutes): checks whether your browser accepts cookies.
  • apolloAnonId, 663206d9602bc502e8929ff2_canTrack and 663206d9602bc502e8929ff2_eventQueue (Apollo.io; local storage, until you clear them, except canTrack, which lasts 1 day): identify the companies, and where Apollo can, the people, visiting our site, so our team can follow up.
  • __cf_bm (Apollo.io, through Cloudflare; 30 minutes): protects Apollo's service from bots when its script loads.
  • Cookies starting _reb2b, for example _reb2buid (RB2B, and Leadsy, Instantly's website visitor tag, which uses RB2B's technology; 30 minutes to 1 year): identify business visitors, mainly in the United States, and match a visit to a person's business profile (such as name, job title, employer, work email and LinkedIn profile).

Third-party providers can change the names and lifetimes of their cookies. We check this list when we change the services on our site.

Other services that load on our site

Some page resources load from other companies' servers, which receive your IP address and browser details to deliver them. These are Webflow and Cloudflare (which host and serve our website and its images), Amazon CloudFront (a code library Webflow uses), Google Fonts (our typeface) and jsDelivr (a code library for our sliders). They don't set cookies on our site.

Controlling cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site, such as our forms, may not work. Google also lets you manage how it uses your data for ads in your Google account settings.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy when we change the cookies we use. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
